Why True Strength Dad Began
Dear Friends and Fellow Fathers,
The idea for True Strength Dad came to me while I was focused on building another company. God spoke to my heart and redirected me. I felt Him saying, “I need you to take a detour and start this business as well.” When I looked back over my journey as a father, the purpose became clear.
Several years ago, I worked as a private rideshare driver. I would drive approximately two hours from Chattanooga to Nashville and work six days a week, Monday through Saturday. My days often lasted 12 to 14 hours—sometimes beginning around 4:00 a.m. and ending around 7:00 p.m. To save money and provide for my children, I slept in my vehicle and showered at a local gym.
On Sunday mornings, I drove back to Chattanooga for church. If it was not my week with my children, I returned to Nashville and repeated the routine. When I did have my children, they knew we would spend meaningful time together and do something fun. No matter how tired I was, I wanted them to know their father would always make time and show up.
Along the way, I saw other fathers making the same sacrifices—and sometimes even more. One father I met at the airport told me he flew in every other weekend just to see his son. That stayed with me. True strength is not always loud. Sometimes it is working another shift, driving another mile, boarding another flight, or doing whatever it takes to be present.
I grew up without a father, so I never had that example to follow. I could not change how my story began, but I could choose what kind of father my children would have. I decided to become the example I had needed—one built on faith, commitment, sacrifice, and love. Even through difficult circumstances and seasons when I did not know how I would get through, I wanted my children to know one thing: their father would always show up.
I believe one committed father can change the direction of an entire generation. When a father remains present, leads with faith, keeps his word, and demonstrates love through his actions, his children carry those lessons into their own families.
I may not have received that example from my own father, but I made the decision that the cycle of absence would end with me. To me, that is the unstoppable dad—not a perfect father, but one who keeps learning, keeps loving, and keeps showing up when life applies the most pressure.
The strength of one father can help build stronger children, stronger families, and stronger communities. True Strength Dad was created to remind fathers that showing up today can change the lives of generations to come.
That is where True Strength Dad came from. It is more than a hat company. It represents fathers who work, sacrifice, keep their promises, and remain present. It is not about being a perfect father. It is about being a committed father.
With faith and purpose,
